Sheila GriffithsAfter an early career teaching and lecturing in Biological Sciences, Sheila sought a change in career direction which held all of the interest of her first choice but added a commercial edge together with limitless opportunities of meeting people. She made the transition into recruitment and has never looked back.
She founded Consult with Nigel Murray in 1989 and continues to work alongside her colleagues in a true operational role. With her extensive network formed from nearly nineteen years in HR recruitment she continues to be both enthralled and challenged in terms of meeting the needs of Consult’s clients and candidates.
Nigel MurrayNigel studied Law at Durham University, graduating in 1975. Prior to forming Consult with Sheila Griffiths, he spent seven and a half years with the broad based search and selection firm Management Personnel.
Nigel has an extensive knowledge of the recruitment market place which his many long term clients take full advantage of. Like Sheila, he prefers to be at the sharp end of the business working with clients and meeting candidates.
Michelle LawtonMichelle is a Director of Consult and joined the business in 1992. She has specialized in delivering successful HR Recruitment spanning Executive Search and the broadest range of Advertised Selection and quality Interim for 13 years.
Prior to this she enjoyed a generalist HR career and is CIPD qualified. She is renowned for her consultancy and partnership approach, high energy and delivery focus and has developed a number of long standing professional relationships with major blue chip clients.
Sarah Anderson Since graduating in Business Studies at the University of Northumbria, Sarah has enjoyed a successful career in recruitment.
Starting her career as a graduate trainee for J Sainsbury plc specialising in HR, Sarah then moved into the commercial field of recruitment which she has enjoyed for the past 12 years.
Sarah's most recent role before joining Consult was as a Director of Tate Recruitment with multi-site responsibility for their London and North of England operations.
Sarah's straightforward and open style of communications allows her to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of her clients strategic goals, functional areas and cultural fit. She has a passion for recruitment and forms close relationships with all her candidates, enabling her to ensure a high success rate with her clients.
Andrew BurkeAfter a corporate HR career, Andrew spent 12 years with a leading search & selection consultancy before joining us in 2002. A member of the Consult Executive practice team, Andrew also handles our clients’ 'non-HR' senior recruitment needs.
His assignments have therefore included Chief Executive, Director, Head of Function and specialist management roles, with particular expertise in the not-for-profit sector.
Paul DeeproseSince graduating in Business Studies from UWE in 1985, Paul’s career has spanned both the corporate world of John Lewis Plc to managing his own family business, before moving into consultancy. Having had both commercial and HR roles prior to his 12 years in HR recruitment, Paul enjoys gaining a deep understanding of his clients' organisations to ensure candidates meet both the technical and cultural expectations.
Creative in thought and approach and with a particular interest in the 'Talent and Capability' specialism, Paul is well connected in this area and partners blue chip businesses to resource senior experts in this field.
Paul joined Consult in 2001.
Wendy Doherty Wendy joined Consult in December 2007 after working at HR Director level in various businesses and going on to provide HR consultancy services at Board level. Her HR experience has been gained in various industry sectors; including; Retail, Distribution & Professional Services.
During her HR career, Wendy has developed large multi-site HR teams, in delivering both operational and strategic HR requirements in fast paced service environments. Her strengths include managing organisational change and all aspects of Resourcing; having delivered in-house assignments up to CEO level.
Wendy will continue to grow our business in the North building on her wide HR knowledge and extensive network. Utilising her technical know-how, presence and recruitment expertise, Wendy has worked in partnership with clients within the FTSE 250 and FTSE 100.
She is a Fellow of CIPD and holds an MSC in Strategic HR Management.
Bill DudmanBill graduated from Kingston University in 1995 with a BSc in Geography and subsequently obtained an MA in HR Management and a CIPD qualification.
He took up his first recruitment post in the former Burton Group and then moved into specialist HR recruitment consultancy in 1999.
Sinead Flanagan After gaining 8 years experience in generalist HR with a bias towards in-house resourcing, Sinead decided to specialise in the recruitment of HR professionals. Prior to that she graduated from University West of England, Bristol in Politics and joined Kimberley-Clark as an HR Assistant. She played a major part in the start up of a Shared Services Centre at the European Headquarters in Brighton.
She then moved on to AMP (UK) Financial Services where she quickly progressed into an HR Consultant role looking after a nationwide IFA sales force. She also had exposure to large scale recruitment drives, succession planning and Employee Relations and latterly, a large scale downsize programme.
In her next role at Guardian Newspapers Ltd (GNL) she worked as a Recruitment & Development Consultant. During this time she successfully undertook an extensive recruitment drive for the award winning online part of the business - Guardian Unlimited. She then moved into a Business Partner role but wanted to step back into specialising within recruitment and gain a wider understanding of HR recruitment in particular.
She has been with Consult for 3 years. Her interests include cooking, tennis, sailing and running half marathons.
Lisa Howarth Lisa's role in Consult is to develop the strength of our Northern office and build on her wide HR recruitment experience.
Lisa is a graduate of Cardiff University with a BSc(Hons) 2:1 in Hotel Management. After starting her career with Walkers Snack Foods on their Graduate Sales Scheme, she moved to TMP Worldwide / Hudson Global Resources where she quickly rose to Associate Director in their HR Recruitment division. based in the North West. Her final 2 years with Hudson were based in London leading the HR recruitment division.
Lisa is a qualified PADI Dive Instructor who enjoys international travel and adrenalin! She has recently returned to her roots in the North West.
Karina Macuix Karina graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree in Spanish. Upon graduation. she joined Frazer Jones as a graduate trainee. She worked for Frazer Jones for ten years in a variety of positions and ultimately gained responsibility for senior level HR recruitment across a range of disciplines and a variety of industry sectors from management consultancy to financial services.
Outside work, Karina enjoys spending time with her husband and their young child Alex. Having lived in London for over ten years , she and her family have settled well into country life and are making the most of the fresh air and village life. Favourite past-times include walking, shopping and socialising. Having bought an old house in desparate need of renovation, many of her weekends are spent on DIY!
Debbie Pask Debbie has operated at senior levels of the HR recruitment market for the past 17 years. She has an extensive network of contacts and has worked as an Executive Recruiter and Head of Recruitment for a NASDAQ quoted organisation and an Anglo French company.
Her reputation in the HR recruitment market is based on her personal values of integrity and trust combined with a passion for recruitment. She is respected for her sustainable long-term relationships and is regarded as a trusted advisor.
Debbie has delivered 98% of her retained assignments over the last ten years across a broad spectrum of HR positions at senior level.
Paul TantonPaul studied Accountancy at Cardiff University , graduating in 1988. After time with one of the major audit firms, Paul has gone on to amass over 15 years within the recruitment sector.
Previously a Director of TMP’s (now Hudson) HR Division, Paul joined Consult in January 2002, where he continues to deliver results across all resourcing methodologies.
Michelle Turner Michelle is a Director of Consult and has been with the business since early 2000. She graduated from Cardiff University in 1996 and joined Bass (now Six Continents) on their high profile corporate graduate management scheme.
She is fully CIPD qualified and in total has more than 8 years’ HR generalist and recruitment specialist experience.
Michelle is currently on maternity leave.
Nikki Amey Nikki was born in Alresford and went on to study Business Management at Alton College.
She started her career at a local firm of solicitors in the Conveyancing Department before being promoted to Legal Secretary to one of the Partners.
She left work after ten years to have her son, Peter. Nikki returned to work in 1996 for another firm of solicitors as PA to one of the Senior Partners.
Nikki joined Consult in December 2006 and is now PA supporting two consultants.
Anne Bayliss Anne joined Consult at the end of 2004, having worked for a French wine broker for 13 years. Anne started her career in HR, working for GEC for 17 years and then spent 2 years working for a literary agent dealing with the Sigmund Freud Copyright. She then moved to a large plastics manufacturer in the South East of England giving PA support to two sales directors. Anne supports Debbie Pask, Sarah Anderson and Andrew Burke.
Jan Becker Jan joined Consult in January 1995 as an Administrator/Secretary following a period of 22 years caring for her two children. Prior to joining Consult, she undertook an intensive training course in IT and passed with flying colours.
Jan has held several positions during her 10+ years and is now Office Manager. She has responsibility for all of the accounts, payroll and general running of the office together with being PA to Sheila Griffiths and Nigel Murray.
Belinda Read Belinda graduated in 1992 from Winchester University with a History & Archaeology degree. Her career started at Denplan recruiting and supervising an external Sales Team. She then joined a large software consultancy firm where she became Office Manager and PA to the Managing Director. A move to London led to Belinda working for three years at a Network Security consultancy based in Harrow.
Belinda joined Consult in August 2006 and is currently on maternity leave.
