Our client is a major player in the Financial Services sector with growth a major driver of the forthcoming business plan. An opportunity has arisen to join the business as an HR Business Partner supporting a number of key functions including sales and marketing. This is a demanding audience, who will require a robust Business Partner with strong credibility and an ability to build HR solutions to help achieve the people plan.
The HR Business Partner role will be a broad operational generalist role. Key focuses will be building stakeholder relationships, supporting functional leaders in team development, recruitment, communications and engagement and the embedding of new HR and reward processes such as grading and performance management systems. The sales force is a high maintenance audience. Key issues will initially be a high degree of recruitment. Beyond this further embedding of performance management processes, talent and structure reviews.
Whilst about 80% of the role is predicted to fall within the HR Business Partner brief, the additional 20% is expected to fall within the incumbent’s ownership of the employee development agenda across whole UK business. This will involve pulling together the annual training needs analysis, managing the training budget and training and competence offering including that for ensuring FSA compliance. There is currently not much in place with regard to management and leadership development programs in the UK, so the incumbent will work with both external suppliers and the Global Corporate Office to identify solutions that meet the UK stakeholder needs.
Candidates should be experienced HR Generalists / Business Partners with the personal gravitas, intellect and credibility to work with a demanding fast paced audience and the influencing skills to position themselves as part of the functional leader’s key management team. Experience of financial services and sales population will be an advantage but is not essential as will previous ownership of or involvement in the training and development agenda.
This is an excellent opportunity to join the UK operations of a major global corporate at a very interesting time of positive change, where growth is expected. There will be a genuine opportunity to influence at a senior level, with a receptive audience and a broad based role.
